Panel 'From Self-Care to We-Care' Curated and presented by Fredo De Smet
Healthcare and technology share a trait: a strong focus on the individual. Self-care, optimization, and efficiency often take center stage. But care is not a solo project - it’s a cultural practice, built from values, relationships, and rituals.
In this afternoon session, we explore how to design a culture of care where technology is an ally, not the goal.
- Robin Ibens presents Stay Close, a digital platform connecting caregivers with host families near hospitals, offering affordable and accessible accommodation. Care here becomes a shared network.
- Sarah Faict introduces Buildr, an AI tool that helps organizations understand their culture. Her point is sharp: today’s individualistic use of AI can make organizations more fragile, not stronger.
Both examples shift the focus from individuals to relationships, teams, and communities.
The session raises a broader question: why is the future so often reduced to technology? And how can culture open up new ways of living and caring together?
