Flag#11: Faith, Death & Failure Che Go Eun
The artist will raise and introduce Cas-co’s newest flag during the Fringe Festival opening, linking the festival’s starting point with BAC ART LAB. The flag reflects Che Go Eun’s latest artistic development during her residency in Leuven. The monumental flag remains on view for the duration of the festival.
As part of her residency during Fringe, artist Che Go Eun was invited to design a new flag for the courtyard of Brede School Stroom.
This twenty-metre flagpole hosts a permanent exhibition in public space: each year, different flags are designed by artists connected to Leuven’s scene, the Cas community, and — in this case — the Fringe Festival. The project engages with the rapidly changing Vaartkom area, with its industrial heritage and new builds.
During the festival, the artist’s flag serves as a visible anchor and signal work, perceivable at all times.
