Try-out Club Efemeer Sculptures of nothing but light and smoke by Club Efemeer (try-out)

Club Efemeer’s installations are profoundly ephemeral. This artist duo uses only light and smoke. These two elements reveal each other - no light without smoke and vice versa. Their interplay yields two-dimensional forms and three-dimensional volumes, seemingly tangible until they vanish into thin air.
These geometric forms are recognisable and simple but, by their very nature, engage in a complex game with your perception.

DYNAMIC LIGHT SOURCE
With help from KU Leuven’s Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Club Efemeer designed a dynamic light source that is constantly in motion. During the try-out, they present a selection of kinetic sculptures that build on it.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Club Efemeer are visual artists Arnaud De Wolf and Maarten Vanermen. Their in-situ installations sit at the intersection of high tech and low tech, analogue and digital. They connect visual art with scenography - with a little help from science.
