Dolende Smaakpapillen (Wandering Taste Buds) Foraging with artist Jonas Beerts
Without a compass, we follow our noses on this Vaartkom walk. Along the way, senses are sharpened and imagination sparked. We place the urban landscape on our tongues: a hilly park, the end of a canal, and the kerb reveal some of their secrets. Wear sturdy shoes, dress adventurously, and remember: what you eat also eats a little bit of you back.
Jonas Beerts lives and works in Leuven. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from KASK Ghent and has exhibited at BredaPhoto, De Studio, and The Wrong Biennale. With a background in video and photography, he creates pliable places: short films, installations, and video performances—hybrid worlds where digital and physical converge.
Recently, he developed his interest in wild and edible plants by organising three walks around his studio at Cas-co. Jonas shares his knowledge of the Vaartkom and of fermenting and drying flavours.

Toegankelijkheid
The main building of Cas-co (Vaartstraat 94) provides a temporary setting in an old industrial building, which means it is not optimally adapted to the needs of wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. Level 0 is wheelchair accessible via the entrance on Vaartstraat. Level 1 is wheelchair accessible, with staff assistance, via the back entrance on Kardinaalstraat. Level 2 can be easily reached by stairs.
