Learning to Manage Societal Change Through Culture and Care

At the conference 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 & 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞: 𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, this workshop explores how the climate transition is not only an environmental challenge – but also a care challenge, deeply connected to our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.

Using the 𝐋𝐞𝐮𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 as a lens, we reflect on what it takes to realize large-scale transitions involving many stakeholders. Real change requires more than technical solutions or top-down policy. It calls for shared leadership, cross-sector collaboration, collective responsibility – and a compelling narrative.

Data alone rarely moves people. Framing climate action through health and care creates engagement and ownership. Art plays a crucial role here: it activates imagination and emotion, helping climate action resonate beyond policy and expertise.

With insights from Katrien Rycken and Jessie Van Couwenberghe (Leuven 2030), we invite you to reflect on how care, culture and shared responsibility can drive meaningful transformation.
