Jan Vanwezer
Jan Vanwezer is the director of the care home De Wingerd and co-founder of the cooperative LIVEZ in Leuven, where he promotes community-rooted models of care.
Jan Vanwezer has a background in philosophy and worked across several industries before becoming director of the care home De Wingerd in Leuven. For more than ten years, he has helped shape it into a Flemish reference in dementia-friendly elder care.
He is also a co-founder of LIVEZ, a Leuven-based cooperative developing new, community-oriented care models. Through projects such as transforming an old school site in Kessel-Lo, he promotes care that connects people to their surroundings rather than pulling them away from them.
